Showstopper Rebecca Zama Spreads #BKLove at BK Circus
19 year old Rebecca Zama blessed the microphone last week at The BK Circus in Brooklyn, New York. As part of BK Circus’ #BKLove campaign, Rebecca soothed us into the weekend with her soulful vocals. It was a packed house that evening as we bopped and swayed to the music during her set. Backed by IET Band, her voice filled the iconic retail store from top to bottom. Rebecca Zama paid tribute to artists who inspire her including Lauryn Hill. Rebecca later described how influential Ms. Hill has been, reminscing to when her first listen to “The Misseducation of Lauryn Hill” brought a 10 year old Rebecca to tears.
Rebecca is a Boston native with Haitian roots. She spoke about the annual summers she spent in Haiti, learning about her rich culture and understands how lucky she is to able to experience it every year. She is currently studying International Global Business and is passionate about diplomacy and politics. Rebecca cannot imagine her future without music in it and looks forward to dedicating one year to her music career as well as applying to grad school.
